One of our favorite areas of the South Bay is the area of Torrance known as Old Torrance or Old Town Torrance.  This was one of the original neighborhoods and many of the homes are turn of the century (20th that is!) homes that have survived the wrecking ball and are far more than tract homes built post WW2.

1423 Post isn’t quite as old as some but it’s over 100 years old and they certainly don’t make homes like this any more.  This striking 1923 “post colonial revival” is quite a bit different from the usual craftsman and it’s hard not to note the dramatica columns and porch.  The home has an upgraded kitchen but still retains most of it’s original charm.  The home consists of a 4 bedroom home along with “guest quarters” attached to the garage.  According to the listing this is only the 2nd time it’s ever been for sale since 1923!

While Old Town Torrance has it’s share of historic homes, most are smaller craftsman homes built in the early 1900s.  This one is a rarity as this historic home is a colonial revival mansion with dramatic columns and a definitive style.

Torrance Real Estate Market Report for February 2026Torrance real estate and homes

Things picked up a bit with 53 homes selling compared with only 41 in January, but it was still a pretty slow month for the Torrance real estate market.

The average “list” price of the homes that sold  was $1,083,067 with the average sold price at $1,077,418 which was fairly typical for recent months.  Compare that to$1,089,329 in January, $1,034,556 in December and $1,024,030  in November.

The average dollar per square foot for the homes that sold was $693 which was also pretty normal for recent months.  Days on market, or DOM, was a brief 39 days before going into escrow.
