The highest priced home sale in Torrance during March was, surprisingly, not in the Hollywood Riviera or south Torrance. The top sale of the month was a remodeled single family home in west Torrance that was listed for $1,750,000 and sold for a very impressive $1,800,000.
The home was built in 1978 and the exterior pretty much looked like a 1978 house. Looks can be deceiving however and the interior spaces had been extensively remodeled with a clean coastal look. Muted colors, beautiful wood flooring and open spaces.
The home sat on a large 7,500+ corner lot and had a very nice sized backyard area.

There are many great housing options in the South Bay and Torrance has an abundance of single family homes for sale. As the largest city in the South Bay, Torrance stretches all the way from the ocean (near Paseo De La Playa in the Hollywood Riviera) to east of the 110 Freeway. As the overall size is so extensive, so are the neighborhoods and price ranges vary considerably.

The real estate market in Torrance really slowed in November in terms of the number of homes that sold but home prices continued to impress. There were only 61 homes that closed escrow during the month which was down from 76 in October and 86 sales in September. Compared with the peak summer month of 112 homes that sold in July and you can see how slow the market was.
The average “list” price was a very impressive $995,705 with the average sold price at $966,517 which was down a bit from October’s average price of $1,045,073.
The average price per foot for the month was $632 which was slightly lower than in October. The average days on market was 50 before going into pending status. This was considerably higher than the 32 days on market in November.

Let’s take a quick look at the Torrance real estate market in 2022 and how each month fared. 
There were 1,103 homes, condos and townhomes in Torrance sold during 2022 with an average “list” price of $997,659 and an average sold price of $1,029,793. The median listing price was $949,888 and the median sold price was $960,000. Homes averaged only 18 days on the market before going into escrow. The median days on market was an incredibly low 9 before going into escrow.
As is the norm the summer months were the busiest with the market much slower from December through April.

Just hitting the market to start off December is a 2 bedroom condo in the 55+ senior building of Village Court in the
Southwood neighborhood of Torrance. This has long been one of our favorite buildings with a resort style look and feel and a great location far enough west to still enjoy the beach weather.
The condo itself is in great condtion and having been built in 2005 still has a newer construction feel with the amenities and finishes that give it a very updated feel. Enjoy hardwood floors, recessed lights, granite countertops and stainless appliances in a spacious and open layout.
The complex has a resort feel with a fantastic pool and spa area complete with social BBQ area and loads of outdoor seating. The complex also features a library, billiards room/clubhouse and a very nice gym area. The location of Village Court makes it central to everything with shopping and dining right outside your door or a few minutes over to newly remodeled and expanded Del Amo Mall.
