January Home Sales in Central Torrance and Plaza Del Amo

January 2021 started off the year  a bit slow in the neighborhoods of  central Torrance  and the gated communities of  Plaza Del AmoChatelaine in Plaza Del Amo in terms of  the  number of home sales but home prices remained very strong.   There were 10 home, townhome and condo sales in central Torrance during the first month of  2021 which was  lower than the sales in the second  half of 2020 and it matche the lowest number of  home sales in the community since July of last year.  The median list price was 834,900 with the median sold price at $827,000 indicating a very solid “seller’s” market and meaning that most homes sold well over the asking price. Community Spotlight – SummerWind in the Plaza Del Amo area of Torrance

Welcome to the gated community of SummerWind in the heart of Torrance  Summerwind townhomes Torrance

SummerWind is the largest of the gated communities in the Plaza Del Amo area of Torrance.  This beautiful complex offers 508 individually owned townhome style attached units. Homes range between two bedroom/two bath home with between approximately 1,088 and 1,273 square feet and three bedroom/three bath units around 1,404 square feet (there are a very limited number of larger homes with approx 1,560 square feet.  All of the homes offer 2 gar garages and laundry areas or rooms.

The community has a great look and feel with tree lined streets, water features, park areas scattered throughout and a good amount of space to roam around without ever leaving the complex.  Although it was built in the late 80s, many of the units have been extensively updated and upgraded and look and feel much newer.

The communty offers an abundance of amenities including three recreation areas each with a pool and spa, community clubhouse, onsite manager, well maintained landscaping, and a playground area for the little ones and plenty of areas to walk the dogs or just sit in the sunshine.

As with all of the communities of Plaza Del Amo, Summer Wind is just a short distance to the newly rebuilt Del Amo fashion mall, Wilson Park with 2 farmers markets a week, The South Bay Galleria, shopping, dining, entertainment and more.

Plaza Del Amo is a unique area in Central Torrance with an abundance of gated communities.  Although there are certainly complexesChatelaine townhomes Plaza Del Amo Torrance inTorrance that are similar there is no concentration of these single family, townhome and condo communities anywhere else.  It’s really a real estate market unto itself in the heart of Torrance.

The real estate market in the Plaza Del Amo area was solid once again for the month of August 2019 with 11 closed home sales during the month.  The lowest priced sale of the month was a 1 bedroom condo on Merrill selling at just under $400,000 with the high sale of the months being a 4 bedroom single family home on Cranbrook selling at $895,000.  View also the current homes for sale in the Plaza Del Amo communities of Torrance.
