One of our favorite areas of the South Bay is the area of Torrance known as Old Torrance or Old Town Torrance. This was one of the original neighborhoods and many of the homes are turn of the century (20th that is!) homes that have survived the wrecking ball and are far more than tract homes built post WW2.

1423 Post isn’t quite as old as some but it’s over 100 years old and they certainly don’t make homes like this any more. This striking 1923 “post colonial revival” is quite a bit different from the usual craftsman and it’s hard not to note the dramatica columns and porch. Old Torrance Real Estate – 2023 Year in Review

There were 61 homes that sold in the neighborhood of Old Torrance in 2023. Prices were impressive with an average sold price of $848,707. Homes averaged a fairly short 36 days on market before going into pending status. Homes averaged $654 per square foot for the year..

The top home sale of the year was a large single family home located at 2312 Santa Fe Avenue that sold for $1,498,000.

The lowest priced sale of the year was, not surprisingly, in a 55+ building. The one bedroom condo in the senior condo complex of the Meridian at 2742 Cabrillo Avenue Unit#205 closed at $395,000.
